Formfacade supports only public forms. You must disable Google Forms features that require sign-in to use your form with Formfacade. "Form is not publicly visible" warning message will be displayed if:
The form is not published
Responder access is restricted to specific people
"Collect email addresses" option is set to "Verified"
"Send responders a copy of their response" option is set to "Always"
The form contains a file upload questionÂ
Google Forms introduced the "Publish" feature, replacing the previous "Send" button, in December 2024. Forms must now be published before they can be used to collect responses.
This new feature provide form creators more granular control over who can respond to their forms via sharing settings. With the "Publish" button, users can adjust the respondent settings, such as making the form public, restricting access to a domain, or specifying individuals who can respond.
When you publish a form, you must make it public by selecting "Anyone with the link" for the "Responder view" in order to customize the form using Formfacade and use it to collect responses.
There are two ways to collect email addresses in Google Forms. You can enable the "Collect email addresses" option in the Settings or add a short answer question with email address response validation.
The "Verified" setting for the "Collect email addresses" option allows creators to automatically record the email address. This feature requires respondents to log in to view and submit the form. You must either set it to "Do not collect" or "Responder input."
When you enable the "Collect email addresses" option, you can choose to send a confirmation email to the form respondents by selecting "When requested" or "Always" for the "Send responders a copy of their response" option. You must always turn off this option to use the form with Formfacade.
If you would like to send a confirmation email to the form respondents, you can set it up directly in Formfacade. Login to Formfacade > click Forms > click on the form to open it > Edit page will be displayed > click Responses > In the Responses page, click on the three dots more icon next to the Submitted status > click Notify respondent > setup wizard will be displayed > follow the prompts to complete the setup.
You can add a file upload question in google forms to collect files from your respondents. This requires requires respondent to login with their google account to upload files and submit the form. The form will not be publicly visible.
If you would like to collect files, then you can use the Formfacade - File upload addon to convert the Google Forms file upload question into a standard HTML file upload, allowing your users to upload files without signing in. Please refer to this help article for more details.
