How to receive Google Forms responses on WhatsApp?

"How to submit responses from a Google Form to WhatsApp?"- Google Docs Editors Community

This is a common question, and 468 people on Google's forum have asked it. You share a Google Form and you'd rather see each response in WhatsApp, where you already talk to the people filling it in, than in your inbox. Google Forms only sends email notifications, so you open each one and copy the phone number into WhatsApp to reply. With Neartail, you set your WhatsApp number on the form. When someone submits it, WhatsApp opens on their side with their answers written out, and once they press send, the response reaches you as a message from their own number. You reply in the same chat.

Let's start. Create your form and follow the steps below.

How to configure your WhatsApp number?

  • On the page that opens, click "Enter your form name". Type your form's name and click Generate.
  • Check the outline it suggests and click Proceed.
  • You land on the form's "Edit" tab. If it asks "Do you want to preview this form?", click No.
  • If you imported a Google Form, it makes a copy of your form. If it says "Your form is private or protected", click Next and give access or publish your form in Google Forms and paste that link. Select your currency and click Continue. When it says "Your order form is ready", click Preview your form, then Edit form.

How will you receive the responses and reply to them?

When a user submits the form on a computer, they will see "Scan this QR code to confirm your order!". They scan it with their phone or, if WhatsApp is already on that computer, click the link below it.

WhatsApp will open on their side with their answers written out and they press send. The response will reach your WhatsApp as a message from their number. If they close it before sending, the response will still be available in Orders.

You can reply in the same chat. For example, if you take cake orders, you can agree a delivery time with the customer, as you have their number and their answers in one place.

Summary

Google Forms only emails you, so each response waits in your inbox and you copy phone numbers into WhatsApp to reply. With Neartail, each response reaches your WhatsApp from the person's own number when they press send, so you reply in the same chat. Create your form and complete the steps above.
